Watch Games. Taste More. from our partner’s new harvest
Csabi Miklós’ 2020 chardonnay will put into bottles, we were there in the vineyards of the Mór wine region with László Nagy and Rozina Wossala for the harvest. The unique wine will be on the market, so it will not only serve representative purposes, but can be purchased as well.
Our goal with the Taste more. program is to introduce to the domestic and international audience coming to the European Championship the very rich Hungarian gastronomic offer featuring both traditional and new-wave elements. Our partners and programs are there to facilitate.
"We are not only focusing on the two weeks of the European Championship, but we also want to show as much of Hungary as possible in the coming period," said Szabolcs Bíró, the head of the organizing committee of the EHF EURO 2022. “Gastronomy is our priority, we want to bring the increasingly colorful domestic offer closer to those who visit us. Introducing the Hungarian wine culture is an important element of the campaign, and we are very glad that we found a dynamic partner in Csabi Miklós. This is our first co-branding collaboration we step out to the public with. I believe it already shows how we want to fill our slogan „Watch Games. See More.” with life and content over the next year and a half. I promise that this will soon be followed by more similarly exciting announcements.”
The wine is made from chardonnay variety and it has a name Watch Games. Taste more. Representatives and partners of the organizing committee – such as the gastro-expert and restaurant owner, Rozina Wossala, ambassador of the campaign Taste more. and László Nagy, Vice-President of the Hungarian Handball Association – were present in Mór at the 2020 harvest, actively participating during the preparation of the wine’s the raw material.
Csabi Miklós runs a family winery in Mór, he is one of the representatives of the young Hungarian wine making generation. He summed up his thoughts on the European Championship wine:
“Chardonnay, as a world variety, feels especially good in the Mór wine region and that is why I chose it for the European championship. Sports fans who visit Hungary will be surprised how exciting this variety can produce in Mór. The harvest took place at an ideal time, in the third week of September, with grapes of ideal ripeness.
All the parameters are practically perfect, this is how we process the grapes, after that it get a minimum amount in a 400 liter Hungarian oak-wood barrel. The wooden barrel very well supports the taste of the rich fruit wine and provides a long finish. I recommend it before the match, during the match and after the match, the bigger the glass the better.”
