Chip is inside the official ball of EURO 2022!
The official balls of the Hungarian-Slovak European Men's Handball Championship are made in a Danish manufactory. SELECT Ultimate iBall is not unfamiliar to handball players, this event will be the sixth in a row under the auspices of the European Handball Federation which uses this ball.

The European Handball Federation (EHF) announced in the official draw of the tournament that the Danish SELECT Sport ball, Ultimate iBall, will be included in the event. Since the 2016 European Women’s Handball Championship, the federation works with this firm, the EHF EURO 2022 will be the sixth EHF-organized tournament in a row that will work with the sporting goods manufacturer.
The Ultimate iBall, which debuted at the 2018 Women’s European Championship, also served well at a continental tournament two years ago, and for the current tournament we get a unique look: in addition to dark and light blue, red and green dominate, EHF’s image and adapted to the colors of the flags of the host countries.

Thanks to a partnership with KINEXON, a chip has been built in that shows important information in real time: it senses the start of a shot, the speed and position of the ball. This information is included on EHF’s official channels, during TV broadcasts, and the items, but are useful for fans on the stands.
The ball is made of extremely durable imitation leather material. A zero-wing bladder inside the ball ensures optimal roundness. The specially developed ‘shark skin foam’ gives the ball an extremely soft feel and excellent grip. The ball is light and lively, but it shows balance, so random movements are not typical of it at all.

The European Championship will be held from 13 to 30 January 2022 in Budapest, Szeged, Debrecen, as well as in Bratislava and Kassa. The Hungarian national team will play in the Budapest group against Portugal, Iceland and the Netherlands.
