DO MORE – Men’s EHF European Handball Championship 2022

Two and a half weeks. It is a long time and it is just enough for us to feel the opportunity and the chance of this time. The 18 days of the European Championship are about all of us: about us, handball lovers, fans, volunteers, people of Budapest and Košice, Hungarians and Slovaks, our environment, our home.

Which we like to protect and look after. Our goal is to create a community that seizes the opportunity in the everyday life of the European Championship and which then carries the message: take care of each other, take care of our environment!

We are determined that the experience of EURO 2022 will be sensed by anybody, especially the disadvantaged children and young people in society as well, so that they can feel the joy of this unique experience and the community-building power of sport. Through our special projects lasting a year and a half, we are willing to draw attention to the protection of our environment and the importance of sustainability, which is why we aim to reduce the ecological footprint of the European Championship.

Exciting challenge, come and join us on this adventure!

Together with the Hungarian staff of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), we are implementing a project that will help to reduce the ecological footprint of the EHF EURO 2022. Get to know our afforestation program!

Throw responsibly, play smart! You can help twice by using our recycled bottle cap collectors. You protect our environment and, through UNICEF, support the sport activities of disadvantaged children.

We announced an Idea Competition in the spring of 2021 for high school and university students, young workers and innovators interested in sustainability. We were looking forward to innovative project proposals that could help reduce the carbon footprint of the EHF EURO 2022 and its side events.
