The teams of the two countries hosting the EHF EURO 2022 met in the last days of the EHF EURO CUP. The Hungarian national team defeated the Slovaks both times.
The first Slovak-Hungarian match was held at one of the venues of the EHF EURO 2022, the Ondrej Nepela Arena in Bratislava. Patrik Ligetvári returned to the World Cup 5th placed Hungarian team with 3 goals, the team defended well, and Dominik Máthé scored 10 goals. The end is the Hungarian success by 30-15.
Two days later, the two national teams also competed in Győr, then the Hungarian national team won by 36-26, in which Dominik Máthé scored 7 while Mátyás Győri and Petar Topic 6-6 goals.
Both matches served the preparation and construction of the two national teams for the EHF EURO 2022, which starts on January 13, 2022, with the first group match of the Hungarian national team in Budapest.
