The singer said that it is always harder to write a song in English, as we think in Hungarian, but she asked her colleagues for help to avoid mistakes. Moreover, as she added, “he asked for extra ear help” to make every English word or phrase sung perfect.
“While writing the song, the atmosphere of the big matches was constantly hovering in front of us, we tried to smuggle that feeling into the song. I am confident that it has become something that can be sung by a lot of people together.” added Magdolna Rúzsa.
„We wanted to choose a performer who, due to his personality, can move many people and whose song will be felt by everyone,” said
Barbara Kovács, Managing Director of EHB 2022 Ltd. –
We have dreamed of an energetic, dynamic song that will have an impact on sports fans and the players, the main characters of the European Championship. We are glad that in the person of Magdi Rúzsa we were able to win an authentic, popular performer for the task. Handball fans still have to wait a bit for the premiere, but I can safely say it will be what we wanted: a captivating, emotional and inspiring combination of Magdi’s sound and style with the atmosphere that is expected to prevail in the stands.”
The song is expected to be released to the general public in November.
The European Championship will start in 100 days, on January 13, 2022 in Budapest, Szeged and Debrecen.
This new milestone will be celebrated by the Hungarian Organizing Committee of the European Championship with an all-day familiar handball festival in the BOK Hall on October 9, for which all handball lovers are welcome.
On the occasion of the Grand Handball Day, gala matches, handball demonstrations and various entertaining activities await those interested, who can also meet the current and former members of the Hungarian national team.
