The WGSM team and BOOKR Kids are announcing an unusual drawing competition
Drawings of seven- to ten-year-old children are welcome as a continuation of a pre-defined basic story that addresses the theme of handball. Our co-organizer, the BOOKR Kids team, creates an animated fairy tale film with narration from the incoming drawings, using characters shaped by the children. The tale is also published in printed form, using environmentally friendly materials. Adrián Sipos, a member of the Hungarian men’s national team, and Erika Kirsner, vice-president of the Hungarian Handball Federation, are also members of the jury judging the drawings.
As the organizing committee of the EHF EURO 2022, we attach great importance to the initiatives of our Youth Programs, which promote sports and handball among young people and children.
In our competition for children born between 2011 and 2014, appliers have to go through a pre-defined story with their drawings, shaping the animal characters included in the call: the figures will be named after their drawers.
Six of the drawings received will be selected by a four-member jury and one by the audience – during a vote on the WGSM social pages. Based on the drawings and characters, writer József Keresztesi will finish the tale, and BOOKR Kids makes an animated film from it.
The members of the four-member jury are writer József Keresztesi, synchronized actor Tamara Zsigmond, narrator of the upcoming tale, Adrián Sipos, member of the Hungarian men’s national team, and Erika Kirsner, vice-president of the Hungarian Handball Federation.
The completed tale will also be published in the form of a booklet using eco-friendly materials, and will also be available on WGSM’s official Youtube channel, Facebook and other social media platforms, and on the BOOKR Kids interface, the free downloadable Tale Library app.
