With great interest, the environmental programme of the Organizing Committee of the 2022 Men’s European Handball Championship ended with excellent project proposals. During the Do More Idea Competition, the organizers were looking for innovative ideas that could help reduce the European Championship’s carbon footprint, while raising awareness of environmental and sustainability issues.

The WGSM team and BOOKR Kids are announcing an unusual drawing competition

Drawings of seven- to ten-year-old children are welcome as a continuation of a pre-defined basic story that addresses the theme of handball. Our co-organizer, the BOOKR Kids team, creates an animated fairy tale film with narration from the incoming drawings, using characters shaped by the children. The tale is also published in printed form, using environmentally friendly materials.

More than 50 teams have already submitted their applications for the environmental programme of the Organizing Committee of EHF EURO 2022 and the WGSM team, and the application deadline has been extended to 4 April. Our goal is to hold the greenest European Championship, to reduce the ecological footprint of the tournament and the festival built around it
